Hello and thanks for visiting my about.me page

I live near Hythe in Kent, am 43 years old and I am blessed with a beautiful wife and 2 amazing children.

I used to think I was going to be one thing in life, and do just that thing. As it turns out, life is far messier and more exciting than that and I find that there are lots of things I love to do that make me who I am. I suspect this is due to a low attention span... :)

I am a professional photographer and run my own business called Way Ahead Photography. my work involves photographing pretty much anything that I can point a camera at!

You can check out some of my work at my website here

I love music and play electric guitar in a local rock band called Gherkin. We have been playing together about 15 years, and cover all sorts of music from the 50s right up to the present day, and never take ourselves too seriously. I enjoy playing in the band as we have a wide audience, and I have made some great friends as a result.

I have worked 20 years in the IT industry, writing software, designing websites and building and repairing computers. I have loved technology since I was a little boy, and I continue to be inspired and excited by it. Under the guise of my superhero alter-ego, The Tech Ninja, I still work as a consultant, and am also currently teaching at a local academy school - and it is very exciting to have a chance to encourage and empower a new generation with ICT skills. It also means I have to keep learning and updating my skills, to keep up with my students!

I am a keen runner, and have so far completed 6 marathons, including London, Paris and Brighton. Due to a nasty ankle injury in 2015, I have also started cycling and swimming - cycling I'm getting pretty good at... swimming not so good - but it's given me a chance to face a fear and grow! :)

I am passionate (some would say obsessive...) about all I do, and I am very thankful for a varied, peaceful and wonderful life. I believe we live in a beautiful world, full of amazing, interesting people, and that my work and interests allow me to explore the world, meet those people and share who I am.
