Luke Collins
Student and Designer in Southampton, UK
Hi, my name is Luke Collins and I am a second-year Product Design student, currently living in Southampton, UK. I am 19 years old and I am originally from Portesham, Dorset. I am passionately interested in gaming, design, animals, and innovation.
My passion for design emerged during my GCSEs when I tackled an Engineering project where I was tasked with designing an MP3 docking station using the CAD software, Solidworks. This project spawned my ambition and allowed me to obtain a high-level mark for my Engineering Grade, therefore, the drive to tackle my A-Level Product Design assignments. As a result, I achieved the skills and grades I required to enter further education.
The reason why I chose to study Product Design at Southampton Solent University was that I was attracted by the efficient 1 to 1 tutoring system, due to the small class numbers, allowing me access to feedback and assistance with my project whenever I need it. Additionally, I found Solent to be more appealing to me in all variables, from its access to workshops and computer labs to its location being in the city centre of Southampton.
