I started lukelanguagetraining.com (LLT) in October 2014 to help my students access and engage with the internet in English, offering them a selection of content I personally enjoy and learning materials to facilitate the experience. Now into our second year, I count on a core number of students at different levels to collaborate in the production, usage and evaluation of the site.
Key areas I've developed over the first year of LLT include: Interactive noticeboards at the end of each class to humanize and personalize the user experience, chat rooms for all levels to further interactivity, and debates for advanced users. There is also a new pronunciation centre (as of summer 2015) and core syllabus with grammar and vocabulary lists that link to classes.
I'm grateful to Mark Blade at New Division for illustrations and design advice, La Playa Idiomas school for their ongoing support, and a number of organizations who have kindly given me permission to reproduce printed material and / or online content.
Going forward into 2016, I aim to have content for all core syllabus areas from elementary (A2) to advanced (C1) and spend more time working on audio and video content. Watch this space!
