Luke Hashman
Student in Southampton, United Kingdom
I'm a 20-year-old student from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, currently living in Southampton.
I'm a second-year student at the University of Southampton studying French, Italian and Linguistics. I volunteer for the Students' Union by coordinating the student-run Nightline service. As part of my course, I volunteer as a student ambassador / teaching assistant at a local secondary school, Oasis Academy Lord's Hill, through the University Ambassador Scheme. I spend one day per week at the school, assisting predominantly in Year 7 and 8 French lessons.
I have a great interest in radio, having managed a youth radio station as part of a project run by youth charity Wycombe Youth Action, for around two years, and have an active involvement in Wycombe Sound, a community radio project in my home town of High Wycombe.
My eventual aim is to pursue a career in teaching, and I have held (and currently hold) a variety of voluntary positions working with young people which demonstrate my interest in education and maximising the outcomes and opportunities of all young people.
