Luke Kilgallon

I enjoy playing football and basketball, I used to play for an under 16s side as a striker. I also like to watch football, the team I support is Manchester United. My favourite footballer is Robin Van Persie, as he brings good qualities to the team. I also used to play basketball for my school team, where I was captain. One of my basketball heroes is Michael Jordan who I’ve often admired.

Playing sports, especially as a captain has helped me with my leadership skills as well as learning how to be part of a team.
I have recently taken part in a sports ambassador scheme at college where I’ve encouraged my peers to engage in different sports. I enjoy being a sports ambassador as I get to know new people.

I am currently studying for a B-Tec level one sports course at college. In the future I would like to pursue a career as a PE teacher, this is something I’ve recently considered after participating in a lot of sporting events.

To become a PE teacher, I will complete my college courses and attend university to gain a teaching degree.
I am first aid trained after recently completing a first aid course, I also have a mountain bike qualification after passing a training course which taught things such as map awareness and good coordination.
