Luke Nyswonger

Hello, I’m Luke Nyswonger, a technical content and learning experience leader with 25+ years of experience helping technical audiences understand, adopt, and succeed with complex products.

My career started in developer support, where I worked directly with customers, wrote hundreds of knowledge base articles, learned the KCS model of content, and became a content lead within support. That foundation led me into technical writing, product documentation, developer education, content strategy, learning platforms, and global content leadership roles.

I spent more than 22 years at Microsoft across two chapters of my career, with work spanning BizTalk Server, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone, Office 365, Developer Relations, Worldwide Learning, Microsoft Learn, certification, and Azure guidance. Most recently, I led Azure Patterns & Practices in Microsoft Learn, including the Azure Architecture Center, Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, Reliability guidance, and Azure Migration Hub.

I have also led digital experience, Help Center, and customer learning platform work at Hootsuite and Avalara. Across these roles, my focus has been consistent: creating useful, accurate, scalable content and learning experiences that help people make sense of complex technology.

I’m especially interested in the intersection of content strategy, learning experience design, knowledge systems, learning engineering, AI-enabled workflows, and team leadership. I enjoy connecting strategy with execution, improving systems, using data to guide decisions, and finding practical ways to apply AI to content and learning operations.

I’m also a proud U.S. Navy veteran, and that experience continues to shape how I think about service, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring Southern California and Nevada, walking, hiking, golf, soccer, homebrewing, craft beer, and hanging out with our dogs.
