I’m a freelance journalist based in Salt Lake City. I most recently worked as a healthcare reporter at The Salt Lake Tribune, and previously covered breaking news and the military for Utah's largest newspaper.

Before coming to Utah, I wrote about Idaho National Laboratory, nuclear waste cleanup and other environmental issues for the Post Register in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I got my start in journalism covering local government and general assignment news during a yearlong reporting apprenticeship at the Orange County Register in Southern California.

I grew up in the rural foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and graduated from Humboldt State University with a journalism degree in 2012.

Outside work I can often be found racing my bike, skiing and backpacking.

My resume is here. Check out some of my best stories here. Feel free to reach out, at [email protected].
