Luke Thomas Jenkins

I’m currently studying my A2 Applied Business at Neath Port Talbot College, with the Welsh Baccalaureate.
I previously attended Glan Afan Comprehensive School, Port Talbot where I obtained 12 GCSE's.

I work in Sainsbury's on the Checkouts.

I am an active volunteer in my spare time, and volunteer with Neath Port Talbot’s Youth Opportunities Bank – a group of young people with the power to award grants of between £50 and £500 to projects that benefit the youth in the community. I was also a volunteer with The Hideout youth club in Port Talbot before it closed in 2010.

As well as my voluntary work with young people’s projects, I am also a Project Co-ordinator with an Intergenerational Project which takes place at Glan Afan Comprehensive School. We provide sessions to senior citizens in the community, where they learn how to use computers and the World Wide Web. To date the ‘Silver Surfers’ have learnt how to socialise on Facebook, create Christmas Cards, the dangers of the Internet and how to trace back their roots, with Family History and Friends Re-united.
