The majority of my life has revolved around sports. I have played a sport every year of my life since I was three. These include: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and tennis. I see myself as a competitive person. Sports allow me to compete against others, which I enjoy, and provides an abundance of other benefits for me. Over the last four years, I have competed in soccer, tennis, and football. I played for my high school soccer team all four years, played tennis in ALTA, and played football to add on to my high school senior experience. I was able to compete at a high level being on varsity soccer for three years, winning two ALTA championships, and making the all-star team for football. I believe these accomplishments speak to my dedication, determination, and daringness. As exhibited by my sports schedule and accomplishments, I know that I am able to balance multiple wants and goals at the same time, like I do for other components of my life. Outside of the joy I acquire from playing sports, they help me focus on fitness which is an essential part of my health and well being. I have learned through sports the importance of hydration, nutrition, and exercise. These lessons learned through experiences in sports helps me recognize when I should focus on my health. The last benefit of sports for me is its ability to bring strangers together to form friendships. These are friendships that can last forever. Not only are these friendships fun and long-lasting, but they are good for networking in the future. Sports are intertwined in all aspects of my life; my goals, my health, and my relationships. I will continue this athletic path with my current goal of making the UGA football team this upcoming spring.
