(Dr.) Ameer Lukman Haruna is a banker, humanitarian, and youth advocate from Nigeria.

An industrious, innovative, charismatic, jovial and open-minded young man.

He is committed to the well-being of the less privileged, developing creative solutions and assisting them through voluntary work, which he does in addition to his studies and office work. He is a firm believer in young people, using strategic advocacy to promote their inclusion and engagement, particularly in governance, peace, the economy, and development.

As part of his contribution to social and humanitarian development, he established a Non-governmental Organization called Ameer foundation for development Initiatives (AFDI). Doing several projects on 5 out of the 17 SDGs namely:

3: Good Health and Well-being.

4: Quality Education.

8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. And 17: Partnership for the goal.

Dr. Ameer is a member, fellow, ambassador and leader in a number of national and international organizations, including Search for Common Ground Battle for humanity ambassador.

A recipient of many awards, which include the African Youths for Peace Award 2017, Islamic Banking Student of the Year 2016, an inspirational young leader award in 2020, and now an honorary doctorate degree from Common Wealth University of London in 2022.

He once volunteered to teach accounting and business studies at Islamic Benign secondary school Bokkos and IDPs camp Durumi, Abuja.
He was the outreach officer of the Alhuda Centre for Islamic Banking and Economics in the UAE and is currently working with Jaiz Bank Plc, the first interest-free bank in Nigeria.

Some of his popular initiatives for young people include the convening of youth peace talks, Jos youth hangout and iftar with youth leaders, A project aimed at fostering religious tolerance and uniting young Muslims and Christians for national development.
