Student, leader, and Volunteer in South Africa
My name is Lutho Mbekeni, a 23-year-old Accounting graduate from the University of Johannesburg, originally from the Eastern Cape. I am Xhosa and fluent in both isiXhosa and English, which allows me to communicate effectively and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I have a strong interest in auditing, finance, and professional accounting, and I am an aspiring Chartered Accountant committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
During my time at the University of Johannesburg, I developed my leadership and governance skills through roles such as Chairperson of Oppierif Men’s Residence and Chairperson of the Housing Council. These experiences taught me accountability, strategic planning, effective stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving, while also strengthening my ability to manage teams and navigate complex challenges.
I consider myself disciplined, hardworking, and adaptable, thriving in structured and high-pressure environments. I enjoy collaborating with others, finding solutions to complex problems, and contributing meaningfully to every project or organisation I am part of. I am passionate about leveraging my skills and experiences to grow professionally while making a positive impact in the finance and accounting space.
