Luyanda Ntshangase

My name is Luyanda Ntshangase, a 20-year-old student at the University of Johannesburg, doing 3rd year and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training (FET) Teaching. I am passionate about education and committed to developing the skills and knowledge required to become an effective and inspiring educator. Throughout my academic journey, I have embraced opportunities to grow both personally and professionally through my WIL experiences. My goal is to contribute positively to the education sector by creating meaningful learning experiences and emancipating minds.

My interests include acting, as I am passionate about the arts. Acting is therapeutic as it conveys many untold stories in society; it also brings awareness to society. Through acting, I can showcase my talent and emotions, and I sympathize with what society is going through; they are not alone in what they are going through. There are ways in which they can voice their emotions. This passion has influenced my approach to teaching, as I aspire to create a classroom where learners feel seen, heard, and confident to express themselves

I specialise in History and IsiZulu within the Senior Phase and Further Education and Training (FET) phase. As a History educator, I aim to help learners understand the past, think critically about historical events, and recognise how history continues to shape contemporary society. Through IsiZulu, I am committed to promoting and preserving African languages while encouraging learners to appreciate their cultural heritage and contribute to the growth and continued development of indigenous languages in a changing world.
