2014 recipient of a $25,000 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Poetry Fellowship, author of But a Storm is Blowing from Paradise (Red Hen Press, 2012), a slice from the cake made of air (Red Hen Press, 2016), and cutthroat glamours (phantom limb press, 2013); editor of Quarterly West. My first book, Tierra Fisurada (Editoriales del Duende, 2001) was published in Spanish, in Argentina. Nationally recognized and award winning, my work has appeared in the Harvard Review, Callaloo, Black Warrior Review, Indiana Review, the inaugural issue of the Journal of Hip Hop Studies, and more. I have held residencies at or attended the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the Vermont Studio Center, the Montana Artists' Refuge, and the International Writers and Translators house in Ventspils, Latvia. 1/6 of Line Assembly, to date the highest funded poetry-related Kickstarter project.
Graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, University of Illinois, and soon-to-be Dr. Bertram from the University of Utah. Based in Buffalo, New York, but always traveling and on the move.
