I am the gardener. As I am given a small plant to care for, I carefully plant the tender seedling, watering it, and then I sit back on my heels and wait for the warm sunshine of inspiration to cause the little green shoot to spread. I know that it doesn’t look like much now, but from experience I know that given time it will grow, slowly filling in with green leaves of character and side stems of plot that amaze me.
