Lynne Ruttkay

Lynne Ruttkay, a California-based author and artist, has created more than 5,000 T-shirt designs in a career spanning more than 25 years. A highly original artist with strong ties to the surf and skate communities, she has worked with leading brands and surf shops around the world, such as Gordon & Smith Surfboards, Inc., Channel Islands Surfboards, Rusty International, Reef, Quiksilver Inc., K-Coast Surf Shop, and Aqua East Surf Shop.

Lynne Ruttkay published Art of the Surf T-shirt, a 76-page commemorative collection of her designs, in 2011. Art of the Surf T-shirt features photography contributed by Justin Ruttkay of top surf destinations such as Mentawai, Samoa, and Australia. In addition to her work in T-shirt design, Lynne Ruttkay is a successful children’s author, having published a series of books centered on a character named RV the Racer Aardvark.

A Character Education Specialist, Lynne Ruttkay holds certification from the University of San Diego Character Development Center and membership in the National Character Education Partnership. As an extension of her efforts to educate and entertain children, Lynne Ruttkay partnered with her son Justin Ruttkay and developed a social media website for children 12 and under, http://www.eccentricracingnetwork.com,based on RV the Racer Aardvark and the Eccentric Racing Network concept. The Ruttkays’ website offers animated film lessons, games, family project kits, and downloadable lesson guides.
