Lyric Maliha

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Lyric Maliha, born Crystal Adams, was raised in a small town 45 minutes outside of Birmingham,

AL, called Montevallo. It is there, in her elementary school years, that she learned about and

fell in love with poetry. Poetry has been a life saver, a companion, and a true friend to Maliha. It

was a light in the time of darkness, love when was needed, and a journey deeper into her

spiritual world.

Lyric found joy in writing poetry for friends as it mended broken relationships and gave a voice

of emotions and feelings that they felt they could not quite express in the manner that they

desired. In her junior year of high school, Lyric was encouraged to submit a poem for a

nationwide contest to be featured in a young poets’ anthology book by her English teach, Mrs.

Laura Pickett. Weeks later, her teacher came back with the news that Milha’s poem made the

cut. When the book came in, seeing her name and poem in black and white, she knew then that

this would be a lifelong thing.

Life had its curve balls and Lyric actually stopped writing for years. Understanding that God

giveth and God taketh away, she always prayed for the gift to never be taken from her. Five

years later someone saw her gift and reached out to her, setting fire to a very dim flame that,

fortunately, never burned out. Now Ms. Maliha is preparing for writing her first book of poems

entitled Dear God: My Prayers to Thee.

Maliha has one daughter named Kelsie. Lyric likes long stimulating conversations, helping

people, and being used by God. Her journey in life has been unreal, but through Him she has

conquered things that would take the average person out of here.

You can catch Lyric Maliha every Wednesday night starting at 9pm CST/10pm EST on her own

show called Lyric’s Lounge: Write Wednesday. She can be found on any social media site
