Mitch Basher

I'm Mitch Basher, and I am a business student from the University of Victoria. However, my defining goal in life for years has been, and continues to be the ability to introduce myself as a professional Track and Field Athlete. But why settle on a sport that is hardly recognized and lacks the monetary incentives of countless others? Unfortunately for me I discovered from a young age, a persistent passion and talent when it comes to running. Fueled by my innate competitive nature, Track and Field has played a defining role in my life, from who I am to where I am today. As important as athletics is to me, I also highly value my education and the future I hope it will build for me. As a proud dual citizen of Canada and New Zealand my interest in business has been constantly pulled towards the field of international business. The ability to apply what I know to areas across the world is something I continue to pursue. The University of Victoria has, and continues to be the perfect environment for me to cultivate both my athletic and academic goals so that I can build the future I envision for myself. This future is a huge motivating feature in my life and continues to push me to improve on my strengths and passions so that I can one day achieve these goals.
