Mahadi Hlahasoane

I am a Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg, specializing in Life Sciences and Geography. My teaching philosophy is based on the constructivist approach which promotes active construction of knowledge through problem-solving, inquiry and collaboration. I am passionate about the integration of STEM education in the teaching of life sciences and geography to foster critical thinking, creativity and equipping learners with the 21st century skills needed to succeed in a rapidly industrialized world. I have gained experience and shown professional development through work integrated learning and I contribute to change in the wider society by partaking in community engagement initiatives. My goal is to encourage and mold learners into independent and critical thinkers who possess the ability to apply their knowledge in solving real-world problems whilst providing quality and inclusive education to all learners regardless of their backgrounds. I am currently a student teacher.
