Mark McDonald is a versatile freelance musician based in Montreal, Quebec where he works as an organist, harpsichordist, choral director, and teacher. He performs frequently as a soloist and collaborator in Canada and Europe and he has participated in several international organ competitions. He holds a doctorate of music in performance studies from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University as well as degrees and diplomas from Queen's University and the University of the Arts Bremen. He presently serves as organist and co-director of music at St. James United Church in Montreal and as a lecturer in Church Music History at the Montreal Diocesan Theological College where he is also the Director of Music for the College Chapel. He is also the founder and director of the Compline Choir at Dio, a choral training initiative at the Montreal Diocesan Theological College.
