My name is Miriam (Maria Elisabeth) van den Bergh. I’m the Head of Supply Chain with the United Nations World Food Program, living in Jerusalem, Israel. I maintain the highest standards of efficiency, competence, ethics and integrity including, but not limited to, efficient and effective management and administration of goods and services procurement in accordance with the applicable Financial Rules and Regulations and procurement procedures. I am highly client oriented and my responsibilities and experience include, but are not limited to, leading and coaching large procurement teams on complex procurement and contracting activities and I have been involved in the recruitment process of staff and their performance review evaluation including developing training plans to ensure adequate contribution can be provided to clients' requirements in a timely manner, achieving best value for money.My experience includes regular dealings with internal and external auditors, preparation of complex and high value procurement cases for award to contracts committees as well as guidance and oversight to local committees on contracts. In view of my legal background and in-depth experience in procurement management I have during my current and previous assignments guided on administrative, contractual, legal and industrial issues. My active solution finding approach has been always appreciated and taken on board. I have been managing innovative and high value purchases which involved complex negotiations in close cooperation with internal and external client services. I enjoy leading teams to reach our set goals through coaching, trust and making people feel they matter and building partnerships while making small sustainable changes.I like the challenge of finding a good balance between family time and my work and enjoy music and good food.
