Maartje Maas-Potterton

When I moved to the US in 2008 from my home country the Netherlands I started to practice yoga. It changed my life! I did my first teacher training in 2010 with Yogafit, and started my new career with enthusiasm and passion. I taught for 4 years in and around Fredericksburg VA.r

In 2014 I reached my E-RYT200 (1000 hours of teaching yoga). Currently I am close to completing my 100 hour Warrior Program (Yoga for PTSD) and I am following the RYT-500 yoga therapy path with Yogafit. I am learning and practicing daily.

I teach a wide range of people and I steer towards having all my students feeling successful in their practice, whether it's on the mat or on a chair. Yoga has such an in-depth positive impact on people, I feel grateful to teach and very much enjoy the sense of community it creates.

Being a long time Speech/language therapist, my voice is one of my assets during my yoga classes. My students describe my voice as clear and calming. My husband and I recently moved to London Canada, where I am rebuilding my private practice, teaching for Prana Yoga & Wellness, the YMCA and getting to know the community.
