Hair extensions or artificial hair integration is a procedure done to add length or volume to human hair. This procedure is done to lengthen one’s hair by incorporating artificial or natural hair. One can have longer, thicker, voluminous and glamorous hair in a matter of minutes. There are various methods available for hair extensions:

• Clip-in or Clip-on Hair Extensions: This technique is the least permanent method of hair extension but it has the advantage of avoiding traction alopecia associated with glue extensions. The hair weft has small clips, in average eight strips of human hair in varying widths from two inches to eight inches sewn into them. Proper care and maintenance is of utmost importance for such type of artificial hair extensions.

One option for fusion hair extension involves using hair which is pre-tipped with keratin adhesive where a heat clamp is then used to melt the adhesive to attach the extension hair to natural hair. Another fusion method involves using a hot glue gun used to attach human hair extensions to individual strands of one’s own natural hair for a nice authentic look. Proper hair care with use of hair gels and repositioning of hair extensions is needed as natural hair growth takes place every 2-3 months.

• Netting: Netting is a form of hair extension which involves braiding natural hair under a thin n
