Mac Cummings

I am Mac Cummings, co-founder and CEO of Terakeet. In my leadership role at Terakeet, I work with global brands to develop strategies that enable them to control and enhance their visibility across search engines and AI platforms.

As a lifelong entrepreneur, I was eager to start my professional career early. While pursuing an undergraduate degree at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, I founded my first tech startup, Mindshark Software and Consulting. Securing contracts with major companies like GE and Forbes from my dorm room, Mindshark quickly became a profitable endeavor that, unbeknownst to me, ultimately served as the launchpad for my next and most notable business venture.

After graduating from Cornell and moving to Syracuse, NY, I co-founded Terakeet with Patrick Danials in 2001. Over the past two decades, we have grown Terakeet into a world-class reputation management partner for Fortune 500 brands. By designing proprietary technology, building a sister site with educational resources about our services, and cultivating a team of dedicated experts across GEO, SEO, content optimization, strategy, and customer success, we have scaled Terakeet’s capabilities and positioned the company at the forefront of the industry.

Fostering an employee-centric workplace that champions its people has always been a core priority for me. Having spent my upbringing and the majority of my adulthood in Upstate New York, I am deeply passionate about advocating for the Central New York community by supporting local organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse, CenterState CEO, and Cause For The Cuse. Outside of my day-to-day work, I prioritize continuous learning and mentoring. I enjoy helping others develop skills in entrepreneurship and innovation—tools that I believe are essential for navigating today’s AI-driven landscape.
