Artist, Actor, and Singer in New York

Originally from Pinehurst, North Carolina, Mackenzie Thomas is a NYC-based Singer/Actor/Dancer. She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy as a voice major and later obtained her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University. At NU, Mackenzie participated in the musical theatre program, directed by Dominic Missimi, and also studied classical voice privately under former Metropolitan opera star, Mignon Dunn. She spent her summers studying acting & opera at the N.C. School of the Arts and The International Institute of Vocal Arts in Italy.

Since college, Mackenzie has appeared in both the Broadway and National Touring companies of the hit show, MAMMA MIA! Regionally, Mackenzie has appeared as Shelby in STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Judson Theatre Company), Olive in THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (Tuacahn), Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS (Syracuse Stage & Indiana Rep; Dir: Peter Amster), Alice in I AND ALBERT (York Theatre Company, NYC), IRVING BERLIN'S AMERICAN VAUDEVILLE (Dir: David H. Bell), Barbie (Lead) in WHAT'S THAT SPELL? (MD: Ryan T. Nelson), Paulette in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (N.C. Theatre), and MISIA (Chicago Ravinia, world premiere; Dir: Barry Singer). Other favorite roles include Eliza in MY FAIR LADY, Peter in PETER PAN, Iola in PARADE & Rusty in FOOTLOOSE (Dir: Lara Teeter).

Mackenzie performed on national television as a top 24 semi-finalist on NBC's "FAME," directed by Debbie Allen and hosted by N'SYNC's Joey Fatone. She also appeared as a Grease Academy contestant on NBC's "Grease! You're The One That I Want."

In New York, Mackenzie has participated in a number of theatrical readings & workshops including SAMSON AND DELILAH (with Glee's Lea Michele), SAVANNAH (NYU), and HOW I WAS RADICALIZED (Theatre 167). She has also performed as a featured soprano soloist with the American Radio Choir directed by Dan Green.

Mackenzie is a frequent concert performer having toured Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan with the Orchestra Japan, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, and Evergreen Orchestra.

Most recently, Mackenzie performed the lead and principal singing roles in Cirque Du Soleil's ZARKANA at the Aria Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. She is a member of the Actors' Equity union.
