Ever since I was little I loved to write. Mainly short stories. As I got older, I learned more and sharpened my craft. In grade school, creative writing pretty much ended by middle school, so I didn't get back into working on stories until I started college. By then, I had become interested in writing a novel.

I took a couple of creative writing courses in college, which taught me how to write good screen plays, as well as poetry (although I still struggled mightily writing poems). After spending my 20's gathering life experience, I've dived fully back into writing. I can write stories, both long and short; fiction and non fiction. Poems come really easy to me now and I write many of them.

I currently have begun freelancing in order to put my name out there to gain credibility while I work on my novels I'm writing. I am the MLB Insider and a contributing columnist for the West Texas Tribune (WTT) where I use my actual legal name: Matt Acly. I also run a blog that I post a lot of poems and stories on; as well as a variety of different things. It's called "Through the Fire" and you can find it on Wordpress: therealphx.wordpress.com

The first novel I'm working on is called "Dark Hero: The Darkness Within". It's the first of three. I'm currently working on the first draft, which I post each chapter on my blog after I finish them. They are obviously the shortened versions of what they will eventually be; I have just chosen to make the first draft phase public.

I plan on being a best selling author, amongst other things. It's a big dream, but it's one I can and will accomplish.
