I was born on Prince Edward Island. I grew up in St. Andrews, Scotland. I consider both San Francisco and New York City my home. I like to road bike uphill and to run on woodsy trails. The smell of trees makes me very happy, as does the sun baking on my head. I collect stuff. I read print newspapers and I eat up hardback books. I like to write with fountain pens. Oysters are fine for breakfast in my world and they're mighty fine wrapped in bacon and served over a Bloody Mary on a Sunday morning. I'm a fan of single malts from Islay (not for breakfast, however). I like to cook for my friends, and I love gathering people for conversation over food and drink.
