Born in sunny Marseilles in the late 50's, I drifted between Mediterranean waters and Alpine peaks for twenty years before moving west to California. Sailing, skiing and climbing were my guidelines while college work flowed erratically. From waiter to blind skier guiding and farming in Big Sur, I experienced a lot of everything till straightening up and moving to Mama Africa in 82. 7 years in Comores as a photographer, then finally reached my dreamland, Madagascar in 89. Kept on shooting pics around and got seriously involved in development of adventure sports in Madagascar. Now a professional outdoors outfitter (www.madamax.com) and in charge of ambitious reforestation projects (www.woodenstock.org). Currently developing perma-lodges in the back country. I do speak French, english, spanish and try to speak Comorian and Malagasy while spending most of my time in the bush.
