William Esikhaty
Artist, Small Business Owner, and Consultant in Ongata Rongai, Kenya
I was born on January 6th, 1953, in Fort Hall, Muranga., to the late Festus Isaac Esikhaty and Grace Muthoni. Being an East African Posts and Telecommunication’s employee, my father worked in diverse towns in Kenya. I am the sixth born in a family of ten – Seven brothers and three sisters. As a family, we learnt to live with different communities from childhood. Primary school education was mainly in Naivasha (DEB and Government Boarding). All six years of secondary education was in Nairobi School, where I developed a passion for art and sports, particularly rugby football. Inevitably, I was among the founder members of the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine. I joined Kul Graphics company after Universty in 1978-80. It is here that I met my wife, Susan. We have three sons and a daughter. I worked at the Kenya Institute of Education (KIE), now KICD, since 1981.(32 years!).
I must acknowledge that the Lord enabled me to educate my sons through college and university levels, as well as build the family house at Ongata Rongai. I may have had set financial goals, but I thank God for taking me far beyond. I am a Church and Community elder.
As an artist, small business owner, and consultant at Madaraka WorkShop, currently my interests range from entrepreneurship to wellness, as well as education and art. Above all, as a believer, holistic wellness is top priority. Having gone through Bible Study Fellowship International up to Substitute Teaching Leader, the Lord graciously equipped me in Spiritual matters.
