1. Strength
My strength that I have learned the most about and reflected the most on is Adaptability. My adaptability is my ability to not only "go with the flow" when I run into surprises, but also my ability to work well with all different kinds of people. It helps me in my academic life to excel in group and individual projects. Adaptability also helps me when I am working with children, because they are extremely unpredictable. Before this semester I did not see Adaptability as a strength in and of itself, but I am glad I was able to learn more about myself and my skills.
2. Time Management Activities
For this assignment I kept track of how I used my time hour by hour for a whole week and reflected on how I spend my time wisely or waste it. We also completed a Fixed Commitments Schedule and looked at how many hours we potentially have for studying outside of our fixed commitments. It was many more than I expected! I found it very helpful to go through what a normal week looks like for me and to see how I can adjust my schedule to help myself and my academic life. It is definitely a tool I will use for the following years to help set up my schedule wisely and efficiently.
3. Lessons From A First-Year Buckeye
For this assignment I wrote a letter to a brand new incoming student to OSU with all the bits of information I have picked up along the way in my first semester. I found this assignment both fun and helpful because it gave me a chance to look back and reflect on what I have learned and how I have grown in this first semester at OSU. It also gave me a sense of how lucky I am to be here, and how I shouldn't waste this opportunity to get an amazing education. I hope in the years to come I will continue to write Lessons from a Second -Third- or Fourth -Year Buckeye in order to reflect on my experiences and grow from them.
