Hello! My name is Maddie Braun and I have a knack for interior design. I started off when I was little and as I grew, my hobby did too. I went from coloring simple pictures, to painting elaborate canvases, to transforming entire rooms. At first it drove my family crazy. They would come home to rearranged furniture and the sound of the electric sander buzzing in the basement. They would make a snide comment, I would insist it was the new “feng shui” and we would all move on. A few years back I stumbled upon “Fixer Upper,” a reality TV show centered around flipping houses. I have always been optimistic, but this show made me see the potential in everything around me. Once my skills began to develop, my mom quickly gave me control over the entire house. My goal was to fill the house with character. Consequently, garage sales and antique markets became a weekly adventure with my friends and family. I began filling the rooms around our house with fresh paint, furniture, and hand crafted frames. As I grew I became more daring, and red became my signature color. However, being a clumsy person, I was never allowed to experiment with dangerous equipment such as nail guns. I tried different techniques and expanded my horizons, but ultimately these projects became a creative escape for me. These projects have pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to express myself in subtle yet meaningful ways. This hobby has crafted who I am today!
