Maddie Ryan

I’m a California girl, and no I cannot surf. In fact I’m terrible at it. Nine times out of ten ends up with me falling very ungracefully and water being shoved up my nose. Yes, I know it’s hard to imagine someone from California not being able to do the sport that is the most stereotypical west coast athletic choice, but due to my clumsiness this is not the case. I am extremely clumsy. Bones have been broken from me having this terrible disease of tripping on air. But hey, if it makes other people laugh including myself, it makes it much easier to bear. But along with the embarrassment, my clumsiness always makes a good story. I mean who doesn’t laugh at the videos online of people face-planting on sidewalks (if people don’t laugh and I’m alone in thinking that’s funny...once again, embarrassed.) But anyways, adding a little laughter into others life is a main goal of mine, so please if I do something like trip in class or my clumsiness gets the better of me, go ahead and slap that smile on your face. It’ll not only make your day better but mine as well. I’ll be happy to go home thinking I brightened up someone’s day.
