To many people, driving around is something they’d rather avoid, but it is one of my favorite things to do. Ever since I was younger, I have always loved to drive. Whether it was driving the golf cart for my dad, or when he was teaching me to maneuver the back roads of South Carolina, I have always enjoyed getting behind the wheel. Driving ever since then has given me a sense of freedom. I love being able to go wherever I want and listen to my music. It’s incredibly calming to be able to get in the car and just drive. Not only does it give me freedom, but it’s also time that I genuinely enjoy. Being in my car gives me time to think, be alone or with my friends, and listen to music. Whenever feel stressed out, sad, or just need some alone time, I hop into my car and drive around. Music is one of the aspects of driving that I most enjoy. My music choice coincides with the mood that I’m in, and being in a car alone I can listen to the music as loudly as I want to. Being in total control of the car is probably one of the reasons why I love to drive so much. It’s time to be completely alone while you’re still surrounded by people in other cars. Driving helps to define who I am and it is something that I will always find comfort in.
