Hey, I’m Maddy Boyd. I live in Traralgon, Victoria, Australia. My sport is athletics. I am currently at a National level.
About my sporting life:
I have been doing athletics since I was was 5 years old (under 6) I am currently 16 (under 17). I currently train Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (for netball) sometimes a Sunday or Thursday. I have to travel to Warragul every Wednesday to train as I am part of the Gippsland track Club. I currently do athletics Victoria (senior) and little athletics Victoria (junior). From the start of the season, October, to the end of season, April, and I have to travel to Melbourne every week for a competition. As well as the weekly little aths meets in Traralgon.
About my events:
My main event is the 800m which i have had the most success in. but also have a second event which is the 400m which i have only recently in the last year started competing in it, whilst I have done the 800 for about 3 to 4 years. My current PBs in the events are:
800m- 2.19.94
400m- 60.34
Achievements:
I started placing at states from ages 8-10 in cross country. at multiple different cross country events. for athletics I gathered many awards from Age group champion to most improved. When I moved to Traralgon (11-14) I got multiple athletes of the year and won many regional athletics medals and made it to my first state for athletics individual at 11, and ever since I have been going. When i was 14 I got my first state medal for athletics in the 400m. last year my was best season by far when I started doing AV (athletics Victoria)
Recent acheivements:
- placed 3rd at state in the 400m (2022)
- got 3rd at schools state in 400m and 800m (2022)
- Made the Victorian athletics squad for little aths (2022)
- 3rd in Av countries in the 800m (2023)
- qualified for my first Nationals in Queensland for the 800m (2023)
- Competed in my first AV state championships and made the final as the best Top 8 in Victoria for both 400 and 800 (2023)
