I'm a writer and a journalist, starting to navigate the real world.

I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I took classes in the J-school by day and got my real-world education in the Daily Tar Heel office by night.

In the past four years, I've gotten reporting experience in a variety of different coverage areas: business, higher ed, state politics, community news and metro news. Now, I'm at Education Week until December, adding K-12 reporting to that list.

I'm not sure where my journalism career will take me, but I'm excited to see what comes next.
