If you asked any of my friends about me, the first thing they would mention is my love for animals. Some even call me a "crazy cat lady." My entire life has been surrounded by a passion for science and animals. I've felt that my calling in life is to become a veterinarian, combining two of my biggest loves. I've grown up with cats ever since I was born. I don't remember a time where I came home and there wasn't a furry friend waiting to greet me. I also dog sit for friends and neighbors when they would go out of town, and grew up watching Animal Planet on TV.

High school is where my true desire to become a vet came from. I started learning subjects like biology and anatomy and fell in love with it. I got excited to learn how the body works and how to fix it when things go wrong. I watched vet shows on TV and even started working for a vet back home. Since then, all I’ve wanted to do is take care of the animals I love.

For a long time, I’ve considered going into exotic animal medicine. I’ve always wanted to work at a zoo and take care of wild animals and endangered species, but I didn’t really know how to get there. I found the Avian Biology major within the College of Agriculture, and am excited to work with birds and build up my experience working with more exotic animal species. Hopefully, I will be a part of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine one day soon, and will be taking one step closer to my dream job.
