I was born at St Martins Hospital and raised in Bath, living in Combe Down and Freshford before attending university in Reading (studying modern history and philosophy in between playing rugby). I returned to Bath after university, barring a short stint working in London and joined a local estate agent in 1996. I spent 14 years with this company, managing their Newbridge Road, George Street and Camden Road offices in Bath and winning numerous awards for the company along the way. I joined the National Association of Estate Agents in 1998 and was one of the first estate agents in the country to successfully complete their CPEA property qualification. I was made a Fellow of the National Association in 2001. Having thoroughly enjoyed working in property in Bath, it has always been a dream of mine to work for myself and specialise in character property in my home town. Along with two partners, I set up our own independent estate agents in Bath - Madison Oakley - in March 2010. We now have two offices in the city (Moorland Road in Oldfield Park and George Street in the city centre) and have become known for offering the most comprehensive property marketing services in the city (as well as the first Bath estate agent to receive NAEA licensing). Outside of estate agency, I live with my family in a cottage in High Littleton, having moved from various homes in Lower Weston, Bathwick, Lansdown and Peasedown. My wife is a midwife at the RUH and I have two young daughters. When not working, I can always be found in my garden, pursuing my goal of self sufficiency in veg for the family. I also grow specialist chilli pepper varieties, write a popular property and history related blog and might occasionally escape to the South Coast for a spot of sea fishing (although my daughters think I’m incapable of actually catching anything).
