“More important than a work of art itself, is its effect. Art can fade away, a picture can be destroyed. What counts is the seed” – Joan Miró
I really do believe in these profound words, which can be adapted to every field and every stage in life. What really matters is not the image of a person, nor his or her achievements- What really matters is the impact a person has on others, his or her surroundings, and the world around us.
I am a young woman in her mid-twenties, all the time looking for inspiration along the way. Since my earliest days in school, I have been inspired by the most disparate of things. I was amazed by my piano teacher whose hands would glide over the keyboard so expertly, which in turn made me practise even harder to also achieve such a beautiful proficiency. I started to get interested in new places or new cities and got amazed by the open-minded cultures of different countries. In university, I got inspired by a particular professor who taught me to get the best out of myself. Besides, I grew up with my inimitable mother who has had a great influence on me as a person, simply because of her presence, her understanding and the selfless manner in which she carries herself. All these things, people or events in my life continue to influence me and have helped me to become the person I am today. Even if the memories will fade one day, what will remain is the strong, ambitious person with a fervor for music, a passion for travel, a solid bond with the family, an insatiable curiosity for new experiences and a strong sense of conscientiousness.
Just as my influencers have had a deep impact on my personality and attitude, my biggest wish is to become as inspiring as them one day. I want to make a change in the world, whether it be on a small or large scale. All I aspire to do is to have a positive impact on fellow human beings and society in order to help make the world a better place.
