Hey, my name is Madox Nicola. I have just finished my senior year at Skyline High School in Sammamish Washington. This year I have been a writer for the Spartan Forum.

I envisioned myself writing stories and taking pictures for sports around Skyline. That's very close to what I did for most of the year. I constantly enjoyed bringing my camera and taking notes on all the events I attended. One of my favorite memories this year was watching Skyline football play North Creek at Pop Keeney Stadium. It was a back and forth game and I was able to take a picture of the game winning drive that came out perfectly.

My favorite part of journalism this year was learning how to complete an in person interview. I remember initially feeling really awkward always sticking with the questions I previously prepared. Throughout the year I was able to gain confidence in questioning and have the interview itself guide my questions.

My biggest takeaway from journalism class this year was the individuality that was needed for the class. This class lets you choose how to spend your time I think it's the perfect class to have in my senior year to get me ready for college.
