Mother of two beautiful kids, very proud mom who enjoys every single moment with them. As many single mothers don’t have much time of my own, but have managed to survive the ups and downs of life to make the right decisions .
Love living in the present. The past is past and I cannot change it...Done and Over. Worry about the future? Yes I do, but try not to stress about it. Love interacting and socializing with others. Strongly believe that I am blessed; The Lord gives me strength to smile even when I am feeling weak and weary!!
I have been in the Human Resources field for almost 14 years. My introduction to the HR world was as Bilingual Staffing Coordinator. Recruiting, selecting, and placing talented employees is definitively not an easy task. You can spend many hours reviewing resumes and applications in order to identify potential candidates. Interviewing can be exhausting, references, really? You can only ask so much. Backgrounds checks, rule number one, consider the nature and date of the offense, as well as job responsibilities. Employment testing and drug screening, I absolutely have learned so much. Payroll and Benefits Administrator, this occupation has given me the opportunity to understand the importance of legal requirements. Obtained skills and experiences are now playing a big role at my current position. As HR Benefits Specialist I am responsible for administering various kind of insurance such as health, life, disability, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits, as well as unpaid leave (FMLA).
I truly love the rewarding feeling of helping others , but specially when they are facing difficult times. However, being sensitive to employee’s needs it’s not always what's called “best practice”; we must implement policies and guidelines that comply with laws, always in conflict between management and employees, but like a co-worker says “ Let’s put the Human in Human Resources”.
Today’s blessings give me the much needed faith and courage to face what tomorrow may bring!
