Mae Black

I was born in Albany, Georgia, My mother had eight children four girls and four boys. I move to Grand,Rapids in 1968 from Henderson Kentucky. I have two children and five grandchildren.I go to Pilgrim Rest B. Church.Work in Grand Rapids for years. I attended Union High School in live in the same place 1969.Work for the public school system, St. Mary Hospital,Kalvernator live in the same place for thirty nine years

Before moving to Kentucky, I march with Martin L. King, went to jail three times, also march on Washington in 1963. I drop out of school, but went back and graduated from Union High. I enroll at Grand Rapids Jr, collage had to drop out because I got pregnancy with my daughter an thirteen months later I had my son. I work until I got sick in 1978 and went out on disability.
