Maegan Sparks

My name is Maegan Sparks and I grew up in Marietta, Georgia. I love to read, and I love artistic activites such as decorating, painting, and creating music. My favorite thing to do is play music with the worship band at my church; I am the violinist in the band. In my family of five, I have an older sister and a younger brother; both of whom I am very close to. We all get along really well even though we are all so different. I have had a passion for music ever since I was six years old, and I play the violin and piano. I always knew I wanted to have a career in music, but I never knew exactly what I wanted to do with it until this past October. On October 5, 2010, my younger brother had a traumatic brain injury. This experience turned my life around. It definitely affected every member of my family, but for me the experience determined what I would like to do for the rest of my life. I plan on getting my degree in Music Therapy so that I can help rehabilitate children like my brother. Hopefully, my future patients will have a happy ending like my brother has had. Our family is so blessed, because after six months Ben is completely healed with no reprecussions.
