Murray Waas is a journalist who has written for a number of national magazines, among them the New Yorker, the Altantic, Harper's and the New Republic. He has also written for the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, National Journal, the International Business Times, and the Washington Post.

Murray Waas has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in the category of national reporting. Murray Waas and fellow reporter Douglas Frantz won the Pulitzer nomination for a series of reports in the Los Angeles Times about the prewar policies of the first Bush administration leading up to the war in Iraq. Murray Waas has also been a winner of Harvard University's Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting. And Murray Waas has also won Barlett & Steele Business Investigative Reporting Prize for an investigation of the U.S. health insurance industry.
