Magdalena Llamas, Andalusian Mezzo-Soprano, studied Voice Performance and Piano Performance at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada. After she finished her Piano Performance career, she moved to Madrid where she continued her studies at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid.
In U.S., She graduated with Maestro Carlos Serrano from Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, and the soprano Sharon Sweet, Fedora Barbieri, Jessye Norman and Shirley Verret, completing her operatic training at The Juilliard School of Music. Winner of awards including first prize in the "Visconti Competition", the Portland Opera Fellowship, first prize in the "Elsie Hilliard Hillman," and first prize at the "Rossini Competition" among others.
She has perform Carmen, Donna Elvira, Amneris, Dorabella, Sesto, Suzuki, the first role of Luisa Fernanda at Lincoln Center in New York, Romeo, Desdemona, Badessa, Maddalena, Adalgisa, Leonora, Flora, Rosina, Clarina, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Eboli, Orfeo, Cherubino and Delilah between others in different cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, New Jersey, Arizona, Houston, Miami, Prague, Rome, Milan, Lake Como, Naples, Philadelphia and Washington. At the same time she participated in different Festivals in Miami, Puerto Rico, Washington, Philadelphia, Genevra, Nantes, Naples, Lake Como, Milan, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Kassel and Berlin among others.
As a concert soloist she had present in 2012 her 13th Concert at the prestigious Carnegie Hall of New York. She has present different programs at New York Guggenheim Museum, Auditorium, King Juan Carlos I Center of New York, Madrid's National Auditorium, Auditorium Irving Philadelphia, CAMI Hall, Merking Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York among others.
In Italy, Magdalena Llamas has performed several concert at the Academy of Spain in Rome also participating in the concerts of the Oratorio Gonfalone the same city as well as the Tor Vergata Festival, Filarmonica Umbra, Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Vaticano. Also she has being Special Guest at the Accademia Internazionale di Musica di Roma, Symphonic Orchestra di Roma, teaching Master Classes. Llamas is jury in the International Voice Competition "Fidela Campiña" In Spain.
