Nixon Mageka

Nixon Mageka is a governance and ICT4D consultant. He is currently a Member of the Universal Service Advisory Council of the Communication Authority of Kenya, Advising on the use of Universal Service Fund in Spreading ICTs to the Underserved and un-served areas of the Republic of Kenya. Nixon is a Council Member of Turkana University College.
He is a lead on mobile data for sustainable development an initiative by the Presidency in support of the SDGs.
He has worked as ICT and Media Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture.
He is a founder of Nedebe Kenya a subsidiary of Nedebe Group a specialized global company that works to make our global network achieve success and in specific settle their business in the African market.
Mr. Mageka is also a co-founder of BIID Africa, a business initiative engaged in developing ICT enabled products and services to support private and public (Government and NGO) initiatives targeted for the BoP (Base of the Pyramid) segment in particular and citizens in general in providing them with access to ICTs and ICT enabled information and services.
Mr. Mageka was a director of ICT at the Ombudsman of Kenya and has extensive work with GIZ Kenya as an advisor on technology and Governance.
Mr. Mageka has given keynote addresses, notably at the UNSS in Nairobi , CTO meeting in Johannesburg SA, East Africa Com in Nairobi, CIO East Africa among others.
