Pedro de Magalhaes Castro

Pedro is an architect and entrepreneur born in Brazil and now a United States citizen. Pedro earned his bachelor's degree in architecture and urban planning at Bennett University in Brazil, after which he opened an architectural practice in Rio de Janeiro. Later, he decided to pursue his master's degree at Washington State University, where he met his wife and started a family. Pedro then worked for MG2 Architects, which assigned him to the international Costco account. He served as project manager for multiple Costco projects in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, working with Costco's real estate group to find properties and assemble entire project teams from conception to construction.

In 2001, Pedro left MG2 to found Magellan Architects, which currently provides architectural services for many different project types: retail, mixed-use, schools, churches, office space, and more. By hiring the right staff and providing high-level client service, Pedro has managed to grow Magellan into a reputable design firm with a diverse client base.

Magellan's success encouraged Pedro to start a new project. Due to his entrepreneurial spirit and cultural background, Pedro has always been intrigued by expanding his business outside the U.S. Also, because he understands first hand the challenges that go with starting a business, he is eager to help other companies find the right connections to expand. Pedro conceived the idea for Convex as a way to utilize his Brazilian and American connections to help international business prosper. Through Convex, Pedro can use his business knowledge, relationships, and cultural understanding to do what he does best: connect people and businesses to each other and work toward a common goal.

Pedro is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
