Maggie Key
Lubbock, Texas, United States
My name is Maggie Key, and I am a sophomore Energy Commerce student at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. In the Fall 2015 semester, I plan to begin the Energy Commerce program. I hope to eventually have a career in the Oil and Gas industry.
I am from a very small town in the Texas Panhandle, called Gruver. Growing up on a farm and ranch, I learned early what a little hard work could do. Most of my interests are related to agriculture, so I spend most of my time at home working with cattle or on the tractor. In the summer and over the winter breaks, I am the office assistant at Adobe Walls Cotton Gin. It was at the gin that I learned I enjoy working with and around other people.
I am a very driven student, and I am always aiming to please. Out of the three semesters I have completed so far, I was on the President's List twice and the Dean's List once. I am currently involved in multiple organizations, including Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Eta Sigma, and Beta Gamma Sigma. During my time at the Texas Tech University, I have learned that accomplishments do not come easy, and hard work really does pay off. I am very motivated to be the best I can be, and I am eager to finish school and see what I can do out in the working world!
