One of my top strengths is achiever. To me this means that I set goals for myself and work till I complete them. I identify with this strength the most because this drive to reach my goals has helped me become the person I am today. It impacts my academic by helping me keep a high GPA, my personal life by being more open, and my social life by trying new things to reach a goal.
My achiever strength is currently helping me with my favorite OSU tradition: Mount Legacy Week. Every year the first year Mounties are split up between six different social justice issues and are given the task of planning two service projects for their issue. The six groups are poverty, global, health, environment, abuse, and education. As part of my duties for Legacy Week, I am one of four captains for Team Education. Legacy week is a lot of work and time, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Being an achiever also helps me work toward my dream job. I am pursuing a STEM education degree for chemistry. I hope to use this degree to become a high school chemistry teacher. Setting and achieving goals relating to involvement and academics will help me to not only receive my degree but also to graduate with a good resume.
