Maggie Miller Sainsbury
With more than three decades of business experience, Maggie Miller currently works as a Strategic IT and Business Change Consultant in London and New York City. In this position, she led a successful bid for a $100 million government contract on behalf of Accenture and also has overseen programs for public-sector organizations. Additionally, Maggie Miller has acted as a strategic IT advisor to a major health care provider and prepared the incoming Chief Information Officer for a new role at a major retailer.
Before starting her consulting business, Ms. Miller spent five years as a Senior Vice President and Group Chief Information Officer with Warner Music Group in New York. While managing a $120 million IT budget, she also provided IT advice to other businesses backed by the company's private-equity owners.
From 2001 to 2005, Ms. Miller served as the Chief Information Officer for J. Sainsbury PLC, a food retailer with 700 outlets and 140,000 employees. During her time with J. Sainsbury, she focused on a multibillion dollar IT-enabled business-transformation program through a strategic outsourcing arrangement with Accenture. She helped J. Sainsbury turn around its e-commerce division and reduce costs through outsourcing and also played an integral role in several acquisitions.
Ms. Miller first gained exposure to large, US publicly traded companies in the late 1990s as a Vice President and Chief Information Officer with Dell for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). She spent the first two decades of her career in London, working as a Chief Information Officer at various firms, including Marsh & McLennan, The Merrett Group, TUI Travel, and National Westminster Bank. Additionally, she gained insight into IT projects with Unilever as the Head of Systems Programming and as a Project Manager.
In support of her continuing career advancement, Maggie Miller attended the Open University Business School, which is consistently recognized as one of the top global business schools. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the institution, which is based in the United Kingdom, and she currently presides as the Chair of its International Advisory Board.
