Magical Character Development

David J. Anderson is a career long educator who has spent the last 21 years working at Maria Sanchez Elementary School in Hartford, the last 5 of which as the Dean of Students. Throughout his prolonged career as an educator, Dr. Anderson has been involved in magic since childhood. Learning and developing skills from his father, a life-long magician himself, Dr. Anderson has found unique ways to combine both magic and education. His pedagogic approach to performing is exceedingly unique. He considers every performance to be as much about entertaining as it is about teaching students life lessons. A firm believer in character education, he has developed a magical repertoire that teaches and promotes habits of success, both in and out of school, for students of all ages. His performances all connect character and learning objectives in both mathematics and language arts. His 38 years as an educator has given him the ability to connect to students in both an entertaining way and in a manner that will leave your students thinking about ways that they can become more effective learners and leaders.
