Patricia Neely-Dorsey

Patricia Neely-Dorsey is a 1982 graduate of Tupelo High School in Tupelo, MS. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the author of two books of poetry,Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolia-and My Magnolia Memories and Musings.

She calls both books a "celebration of the south and things southern".

Through her poems she attempts to give a more positive glimpse into the southern way of life, rather than all of the negatives usually portrayed .

In 2015 , Patrica received a proclamation in her honor from Governor Phil Bryant declaring her as an Official Goodwill Ambassador for the state. She also received a resolution passed by the House of Representatives commending her work in promoting positive images of Missisisppi through her poems.

Patricia currently lives in Tupelo with her husband James, son Henry and Miniature Schnauzer , Happy.Her slogan is:"Always, Always Celebrating the South and Promoting a Positive Mississippi "
